Effective October 25, 2026 · Updated October 25, 2026 to add Google Analytics
This policy explains what information AppliancePartFinder.com (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit the site, why, and the choices you have. In short: we collect very little, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
Information you give us
If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message. The form is powered by the Ninja Forms plugin: your message is emailed to us and a copy is stored in our website’s database so we can reply. You’ll also get an automatic email confirming we received it.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Hostinger) records basic technical data for each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to run and secure the site.
- Security. We use the Wordfence security plugin (made by Defiant, Inc.) to block attacks and spam. It records IP addresses, login attempts and page requests, and may check IP addresses against Wordfence’s threat-intelligence service.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics, added through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to see how visitors use the site: for example which pages are visited, how long people stay, roughly where they’re visiting from (country or city level), what device and browser they use, how they found us, and which links they click, including links to Amazon and other stores. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect this, and Google processes it under Google’s Privacy Policy. We use it only to improve the site, not for advertising.
- Cookies. Besides Google Analytics cookies, the site may set small functional cookies, for example to remember display settings, and administrators who log in get standard WordPress login cookies. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Links to Amazon and other stores
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon may set cookies on its own site to record that you came from us, so we can be credited for qualifying purchases. That data is collected by Amazon, not us, and is covered by Amazon’s Privacy Notice (linked at the bottom of every Amazon page). Other stores we link to have their own privacy policies. We don’t receive your name or what you buy.
How we use information
- To answer your messages and improve our guides
- To keep the site running, secure and free of spam
- To understand which guides are useful and improve them, using Google Analytics
Sharing
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We only share it with service providers that help us run the site (our web host, Hostinger; our security provider, Wordfence; and Google, for analytics), or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to answer you and improve the site, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Security logs are kept for a limited period by Wordfence and our host. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask any question about this policy by emailing support@appliancepartfinder.com. Depending on where you live, for example California, you may have additional privacy rights. We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
Opting out of Google Analytics
You can block Google Analytics by blocking cookies in your browser, using a privacy extension, or installing Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Children
This site is for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
